Position and Duties: 
 
 
 
The Public Works Department is seeking to fill a Technical Services Network Engineer position. This position deals with local/wide area networks with multiple servers and network segments, systems administration or desktop and application support and system maintenance. 
 
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 
 
 
-Troubleshooting and support of Servers, desktop and mobile devices. 
 
-Assessing problems, devising quality solutions for resolution, recommending purchases as needed. 
 
-Configuration of Windows Operating Systems (XP, Win7, Svr 2003, Svr 2008). 
 
-Monitors system performance for availability, speed, capacity, storage issues and security problems. Change the performance of systems and prevent the items shown above from becoming problems. Examples of actions include applying security patches, ensure security best practices are followed and restoring lost data (including data that is the most difficult to receive). 
 
-Coordinates the provision of a variety of information systems data that may include the evaluation, planning, design and implementation of existing and new systems for multi-use, each having specific individual or competing requirements or integrated functions. 
 
-Interact and communicate tactfully with staff, customers, and the public. 
 
-Manage multiple assignments and prioritize and reprioritize work when resources are not available. 
 
-System backups and restores. 
 
-Maintaining inventory records and systems documentation. 
 
-Program, Interpret, and modify new and existing programs. 
 
-Set-up and implement computer hardware and software programs.  
 
-Training of end users in use of Windows, Office applications, best practices and connecting to the network and applications.

Minimum Qualifications 
 
Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: 
 
1.  Education:  A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Technology, or a closely related field 
 
2.  Experience:  Three years of experience at the level of Network Technician II with the City of San Jose 
 
3. Acceptable Substitutions: Two years of related experience may be substituted for up to two years of the education requirement. 
 
4. Licenses or Certificates: 
-Possession of a valid California Driver's License. 
-Possession of a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certificate or an equivalent professional, industry recognized certification. Examples of equivalent certifications include but are not limited to: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

PART-TIME POSITION - 24 HRS/WK - The staffing specialist is the subject matter expert for the Kronos Scheduling System who is responsible for the staffing schedule for the department of nursing 24/7. The specialist coordinates full time, part time, pool, float and agency staffing to meet the changing needs of the department. The specialist is required to assess staffing of all units daily, weekly, monthly and facilitate appropriate staffing. Changes to established schedules are made in the office; which includes but is not limited to call outs, or other approved time changes from Patient Care Manager. The staffing specialist is also the timekeeper for the department of nursing. On daily basis exception sheets are reviewed for data entry. The specialist supports the Patient Care Managers, Directors and Nursing Supervisors in meeting the varying staffing needs of the organization, as well as providing secretarial and clerical duties. High school graduate with minimum five years secretarial experience or Associates Degree and three years secretarial experience. Minimum of two years experience in a healthcare environment.</div>

Essential Job Duties
 </h2>
The Design Lab for K-12 Education is 
hiring a temporary, part-time Graphic Design Production Assistant for 
summer education programs. The Graphic Design Production Assistant will 
complete projects as needed for Design Camp. In the spring, job duties 
include preparing marketing materials, signage, and other documents 
using the existing Design Camp brand. During the camp season, the 
Graphic Design Production assistant will handle in-house and contract 
production jobs, and complete graphic design projects as needed. The 
Graphic Design Production Assistant will be responsible for completing 
projects on schedule and working within project budgets. The Graphic 
Design Production Assistant is expected to keep organized, digitally 
packaged project files, and back them up regularly. 
Minimum Experience/Education
 
Qualifications and Experience: 
● Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Macintosh Operating System, Microsoft Office, (Excel expertise preferred) 
● Experience merging information from database to a layout 
● Excellent personal and digital organization and communication skills 
● Ability to work quickly and within an existing brand 
● Portfolio, resume, and letter of interest required (For student applicants we also require two letters of recommendation) 
Departmental Required Skills

Willingness work on a project-by-project basis 
Some proofreading and editing is required.

Experience doing production work and working with professional printers a plus. 
3–5 years experience producing graphic materials preferred.
