Overview:
This full time
permanent position will be part of an onsite CompuCom IS Infrastructure Support
team and is critical to the provisioning and operation of services. This
role provides expert level analytical and infrastructure support in an IS
Infrastructure to ensure the delivery of reliable services, throughout the
operating life cycle (architect, design, build, transition, run), in order to
enable applications solutions and to meet the service level objectives of
various Business Units.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
include continuous improvement and governance & execution of the Asset
Lifecycle and Asset Maintenance Strategies, contributing to infrastructure
strategies and roadmaps, establishing technical best practices, supporting
break/fix and problem management activities, providing input to and reviewing
equipment maintenance plans and life cycle strategies, support sustaining
infrastructure reliability programs, assessing and reporting on
infrastructure-related risks and supporting the operations and project delivery
teams with expert level technical guidance and advice. This role would
also be involved in and/or lead P1 & P2 Break/Fix events as required.
This position works seamlessly in the “One Team” organization alongside IS
Infrastructure, IS Applications, IS Project Delivery, IS Enablement, IS
Business Relationship Management and outsource partners and technology
vendors during all phases of the operating life cycle.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate
will require proven knowledge of as many of the following technologies as
possible:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003,
2008, 2012
- Microsoft Windows 2000
- Citrix 5/6.5
- Exchange 2003, 2007, 2013
- VMWare
- Microsoft Clustering
- SCCM/SCOM
- SAN Storage as related to
Server connectivity, configuration, troubleshooting
The following are the
specific technical and business skills, knowledge and experience required to
perform the position.
- 10+ years enterprise
infrastructure operations experience
- Post-secondary degree in
computer science or a combination of related experience and education.
- Must have previous experience
with implementation of IT projects related to infrastructure solutions
with experiences in technical architecture, research, design and
implementation
- Very strong understanding of
disciplined IS infrastructure operational methodologies (processes and
procedures, availability management, change management, capacity and
performance management, life cycle and maintenance strategies, problem
identification, issues correlation, root cause analysis, gap analysis,
assessments, remediation planning) is required in this role to drive
maximum value
- Broad technical awareness and
understanding encompassing all aspects of IS Infrastructure (Service
Management, Networks, Storage, Data Protection, Servers and Desktops)
- Knowledge of and experience
with pro-active, predictive and preventative maintenance strategies
- Ability to perform assessments
and translate findings into justifiable recommendations and right-fit
corrective actions using a risk-based approach
- Sound knowledge & hands on
experience with EMC storage technologies
- EMC Certification more than one
area – Specialist or Expert level in at least one area
- Enterprise Class Storage Area
Networking experience (FiberChannel Directors and Switches, zoning, etc)
- Extensive experience in the installation, maintenance, operation, tuning, and troubleshooting enterprise class Wintel environments (ie. 1000+ servers, 10K+ users).
