Essential Job Duties

The Design Lab for K-12 Education is hiring a temporary, part-time Graphic Design Production Assistant for summer education programs. The Graphic Design Production Assistant will complete projects as needed for Design Camp. In the spring, job duties include preparing marketing materials, signage, and other documents using the existing Design Camp brand. During the camp season, the Graphic Design Production assistant will handle in-house and contract production jobs, and complete graphic design projects as needed. The Graphic Design Production Assistant will be responsible for completing projects on schedule and working within project budgets. The Graphic Design Production Assistant is expected to keep organized, digitally packaged project files, and back them up regularly.
Minimum Experience/Education
Qualifications and Experience:
● Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Macintosh Operating System, Microsoft Office, (Excel expertise preferred)
● Experience merging information from database to a layout
● Excellent personal and digital organization and communication skills
● Ability to work quickly and within an existing brand
● Portfolio, resume, and letter of interest required (For student applicants we also require two letters of recommendation)
Departmental Required Skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Willingness work on a project-by-project basis
Some proofreading and editing is required.
 Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Experience doing production work and working with professional printers a plus.
3–5 years experience producing graphic materials preferred.
Graphic Design degree a plus.
Required License or Certification :N/A
Special Instructions
Professional reference list should ideally include 2 – 3 persons familiar with applicant’s design work.

Updating the Design Camp Informational Poster
Creating name tags for Design Camp
Laying out and printing group posters for Design Camp
Creating posters and hand-outs for Design Camp Activities
Producing staff recognition acknowledgements
Creating T-Shirt and Bag Graphics
